Pollokshields Heritage was formed in 1992 as a local conservation and amenity society with the intention of preserving and conserving this unique garden suburb. It became a Scottish Charity in April 2000, and registered as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation with OSCR in 2022.

This privacy notice tells you what to expect from us when using your personal information.

  • Donation history

  • Gift aid declarations

  • Website and app user journey information

  • Records of consent (where appropriate)

We use the above information to:

  • administer membership records

  • receive donations or funding

  • maintain accounts

  • notify you (our members and supporters) of news, activities, talks, and events of a charitable nature

  • for service update purposes

3) Lawful bases and data protection rights

Under UK data protection law, Pollokshields Heritage complies with its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018. What is the legal basis for Pollokshields Heritage to collect and process your personal data?

  • Consent: we have permission from you (our members and supporters) once we have given you all the relevant information for collecting and using your personal data.

  • We process your personal data so we can administer membership records; receive donations or funding; maintain accounts; notify you (our members and supporters) of news, activities, talks, and events of a charitable nature; and for service update purposes.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

5) How long we keep your information

We retain membership data for as long as a member or supporter’s membership remains active. Any data where there is no longer a legal obligation to retain will be securely destroyed.

Gift aid declarations, and any associated paperwork, will be retained for a period of 7 years (in accordance with HMRC requirements)

Requests to unsubscribe from our mailing list will be deleted at the earliest opportunity.

6) Who we share your information with

  • Google Suite: the data processor holds data securely and sends/receives emails and files

  • HMRC: members or subscribers who have opted in for Gift Aid.

7) How to complain
